The Maryland Department of Labor Launches Free Job Search App

App links jobseekers to current job openings in Maryland

BALTIMORE, MD (March 18, 2016) – Today, the Maryland Department of Labor announced the launch of a new job search app, as an extension of the Department’s current online job search tool, the Maryland Workforce Exchange (MWE). The MWE website provides jobseekers with resources and access to job openings and also helps employers to search and connect with qualified candidates.

The mobile app, MWEJOBS is designed to make finding employment easier for Marylanders by using their smartphone The MWEJOBS app is now available for download onto smartphones, tablets and other devices.

“Our goal is to continue expanding the accessibility of employment opportunities for all Marylanders. The MWEJOBS app gives users access to current job openings from more than 16,000 sources which includes some of the Internet’s top job listing sites like Monster.com,” said Kelly M. Schulz, Secretary of the Maryland Department of Labor. “That Maryland job you’re looking for may be just a few swipes away.”

The MWEJOBS mobile app allows users to search jobs by location or keyword and apply to them instantly. Users can also filter job search results by occupation, expand a job listing to review details, map a company’s location and even share a job notice via email or on a social media site. The app includes an option to set-up notifications so that jobseekers can learn about new job opportunities as soon as they become available.
